A large amount of commercial exhibitions has emerged in recent years, attracting visitors by selling the “photographic value” of the exhibition environment, over emphasizing visual effects.
Through a hypothetical exhibition where the “artworks” on display are all assemblages of landscape, I tried to reflect on these type of commodified exhibition culture today and the “spectacles” they produce.
The exhibition is titled “The Grand Show”, as a straightforward and playful declaration of the “artworks” as grandiose spectacles.
